What We Believe and Strive to Practice in

the church of Christ

We are a group of people who believe that we must look to God’s Word for direction and instruction in all things.  We believe that the church’s congregations today should be just like the church revealed in the New Testament. We should practice and teach all things that were revealed about the church in the New Testament.

Jesus said he would build His church (Matthew 16:18) and thus it should have his name as it did in the New Testament.

We believe we should teach what was taught and approved by God as well. On the subjects of faith, repentance, baptism and confession, we look only to God’s Word for what these items mean and what was taught and practiced in the New Testament.

We believe that the items of worship should also be of the kind today that were practiced in the early church of the 1st Century. The early church praised God, had communion each 1st day of the week (Sunday) sang without any instruments of music, contributed monies to the work of God and had preaching of God’s plan for mankind. The early churches also engaged in prayers to God for help and guidance.

We also desire to fulfill the mission given to the church in Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We strive to do Bible things in Bible ways, to speak where the Bible speaks  and to be silent where the Bible is silent.
